Training Data Exploitation Presentation at DSEI 2017

As the British Army Collective Training Review is now complete, Army HQ are setting up the Collective Training Programme and the Project Management Office is currently being scoped and defined.  DSEI will be a key part of the initial industry engagement with Maj Gen Tim Hyams, GOC Army Recruiting and Training Division speaking about Future Land Collective Training and Innovation- A Vision for 2025.

Supporting this theme Chris Rolfs, our Chief Technology Officer will be giving a presentation s on Training Data Exploitation (TDx):

  • Thursday 14th September

  • 1400-1430 hrs

  • East Theatre, Land Zone, North Hall

He will be building on from his recent discussion at ITEC which focused on the following idea:

Collective Training Events deliver significant amounts of valuable data to help those developing military capability to understand potential opportunities and enhancements that can be made. However, achieving this understanding is challenging and two major problems exist; Training activities have insufficient or inappropriate data capture approaches and limited information analysis and interpretation tools and standalone experimentation is expensive, resource intensive and difficult to programme. There have been attempts to address these problems and bring a more structured approach to training data exploitation, but the complexities in data capture and analysis & reporting have meant that these attempts have yet to be converted into solutions that can deliver much additional understanding and insight.
