Meet George – our new Junior DevOps Engineer

We’re thrilled to announce that George has joined us as the next amazing addition to the ever-growing Cervus team

George is a Bournemouth University Computer Science graduate, who interned with IBM and Griffon Hoverwork following school and during his degree. He is experienced working with cloud-based systems, virtualization and DevOp practices and is interested in analysing and breaking down complex concepts into components that can be explained simply, and documented effectively.

George told us:

I’m interested in the culture surrounding software / project management and how it can be improved to be more accessible to people outside of the industry. My experience of working with software at work and at home shows me the importance of effective documentation and ease of understanding when it comes to the varied methods implemented in modern software.  Cervus’ structure really appealed to me, as it meant that I could follow the development process from idea to prototype to deployment without being out of the loop on how something is run within the company.  Also, as I was hired during the coronavirus pandemic, the fact that the team was already experienced at working in hybrid office setups was a major benefit!

Paddy Little, Technical Director, is excited at George’s addition to the team:

He has already impressed us with his bang up to date expertise, enormous energy, and imagination, as well as a deep personal commitment and enthusiasm for the role. He even manages to run a development environment of his own at home that is the envy of our engineering team! George, you have chosen a great time to come aboard. Welcome – we look forward to unleashing you on the many challenges we have chosen to confront head on.

Our growth continues and George won’t be the last to join our expanding company this year – if you like what we are doing, and want to be part of our cutting-edge decision support and data analytics team, keep an eye on our website for more details!
